V for Vendetta
Me, Vern, John, and Steve went to go see this the other night. I didn’t know exactly what to expect, and what I got was the best movie I’ve seen this year so far. It’s not action pact, but what action there is was great; however the movie’s story telling and deeper meaning were what made it so great. Based on the comic book of the same name, the movie starred V, a vigilante anarchist set out to right the wrongs of a socialist Britain. His inspiration is Guy Fawkes, a real historical figure who tried to blow up the House of Parliament in England 1605. Click the link for more information. While the Wachowski Bros. took some liberties with the original work, the movie adaptation remains faithful to principals and ideals of the comic book. Don’t let the fact its source material is a comic book scare you away either. All in all 4.5/5 stars!
